Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Here are my twins. My oldest (2 years older) looked exactly the same as my youngest - just a little taller and with blue eyes. The boys had to have exactly the same costume. Boring! But, it's a kid thing. My youngest is not sporting his swords and dagger backpack in the picture below. The boys picked the Ninja costumes because they wanted the swords to play with. Play-time will be interesting the next few days.

My step-dad used to hang all his deer/elk/bear/moose skulls across the carport. Many kids would walk up and start crying. We kept telling him to stop doing that, but he thought it was funny.

Now that I look back on those days - I am impressed at how skilled he was of a hunter. He got three bear with bow and arrow. He built his own longbows. Hunting was his life's passion. He ticked one bear off once, and he didn't have a back-up gun on him - the bear almost got him. He started carrying a .44 Magnum after that for back-up.

The bad thing about hunting bear with bow and arrow... it would take him days to find the carcass and by the time he found it, the meat would be spoiled. I think I spent more days being angry at him over killing without getting any food out of it, than I did respecting him for his abilities. I understand and appreciate hunting for food. I don't appreciate hunting in such a way that the food goes to waste.

I'm glad the largest game my husband hunts is wild turkey. It would be nice to have the meat, but there's a lot that goes into packing out big game.
This is an important part of our hunt as we are both disabled...so we have to have a good shot & quick kill.
Even then, we have to track the animal for acres.....Thankfully, it did not go far, just a 1/4 mile of thick blackberries.
We had to get in there with pruners & bi pass clippers...but very worth it.

Ok so I have a major problem now!!!!
Two of my chicks that I just posted pics of, they are/were four weeks old and two of them (MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITES) just died yesterday. So I sat down to watch the other chicks for an hour and found that a few of them are pooping out blood! What in the world could this be? They have not been out side with my other chickens, but I did bring in a chick from outside, that was about a week older and put her in with them. Please, does any one know what this could be and what I need to give them to get them better?
