Awesome! It's very full of life then. Just wanted to be with some siblings.

I ended up pealing two late chicks, both of who were apparently just tired out. The second one hd no thick nor dried membranes, but had turned so that it couldn't reach any shell with its beak: a quail Bd'A, also happy in the brooder.

Nothing else has even pipped.

In any case, 18 chicks (ten Hamburgs, eight bantams) is really quite a lot.

Julia, insufficient sleep again, hired hand day, doctor's (routine check up) appointment, need to wash hair, and it's raining, ugh.

thank you everyone, what it comes down too, is I guess people were killing and eating chickens in the city limits, and people complained. Never fixed the giant hole in our front lawn, then he kept demanding we remove a bush that wasn't even on his property because he wanted curbing put in.......... the bush was no where near it and the hole he made from digging it up is still sitting there, not fixed. and I'm pretty sure he's the one that tried to get us in trouble for having chickens when he didn't even know for sure if we had them. My 8 yr old told their 10 yr old. Whatever. But he's always up in our business, everytime my husband builds something, WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING, What that large tent thing on the side of your house, is that a coop, who's ever heard of a chicken coop tent???? We told him it was our storage shed for the lawn mower etc. which he then asks, is it a work shed, I swear, this guy is a public nusience I just see him trying to cause issues for us, even though his annoying little dogs, yap at us the entire time we are in our yard. I really hope this doesn't turn into feuding neighbors
It already has on his part. Good luck with him. I had a neighbor like him once and she was a real pain.

PRAISE THE LORD, PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!! We finally got someone to talk to us. I won't go into the details but needless to say, today we got an email, with conditions, that we can have chickens as pets in the Yelm city limits. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

Even more true than "you can't choose your family" is you can't choose your neighbors, unfortunately.

Gotta love 'em, don't got to like them.

You will find it under Washington BYC and it is a closed group; so you would need to be invited or ask for membership.

It was looking up at me with 1 eye that was peeking out...).... it had pipped & could not get out, well, after I picked it up & stuck the fractured egg back in the bator, it hatched out just fine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was looking up at me with 1 eye that was peeking out...).... it had pipped & could not get out, well, after I picked it up & stuck the fractured egg back in the bator, it hatched out just fine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did that too. I just about cried. Then I candled it and it was a quitter. Thank goodness. I'm glad yours hatched.
