Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Well, at least today the hour I lost to cleaning up after Ruby Franklin was here to witness what it takes to clean up when she wizzes all the way from the front door into the kitchen. I'll still have to hose her off later, since for most of that river she was asleep on the floor.

There was a snotty interchange on fb about agressively treating sick animals: I know what is wrong with her (she has an adrenal system disorder), I know what treatment would entail, how much it would cost, and what it would do for her length and quality of life: chemotherapy, very expensive, not guaranteed to improve life expectancy, and absolutely certain to cause bad nausea and side effects. Honestly, she's fifteen years old, she gets around and enjoys her food and takes an interest in life... and the problem is she's messing up my quality of life a whole lot, but that's not an ethical reason to euthanize her.

And of course as soon as I got her mess cleaned up so I could go do chores it started to pour rain.

I had a breeding pen set up and I let them out yesterday. My other rooster is attacking him very bad. He hides in the coop with his head in the corner. It is very sad and the rooster being attacked used to be the dominant one. He was never as mean as the new attacker is. Please help fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Move one of them to bachelor quarters.

Life's too short to put up with a mean bird. One has to go.

It's hard to find them for a dog her size (as you know, but others don't, she'a sort of on the extra-large end of things); I'm going to look at Petsmart on Friday morning when I go in to buy another gallon of Nature's Miracle.

In other news: no matter what I thought I was going to do this afternoon, I have to cut hardware cloth and make lids for the chick brooders. One of the SSH chicks was out just now. I was going to get the ground levelled where I'm going to put their big kid brooder but that's not likely to happen today.

I locked the attacker up until I could find him a home but now I can't find the other. The attacked was my best quality bird and my showmanship an favorite bird.

I'm feeling frustrated. I can't get a yea or nay on whether or not my flock has the have been NPIP tested or not. I'm not getting up at the crack of dawn to drive to Puyallup only to have to turn around and come home again. I can't leave the chickens in the car for any length of time, so I would have to come home. The resounding silence makes me wonder if the official answer and unofficial answer are different, and they are hoping I'll read between the lines because they can't tell me to come anyway.
As far as I understand, yes you do have to have the 10% of flock tested before they're allowed at any shows in the state.. I haven't had mine tested recently so I'm going "stag" so to speak. lol
maybe you can get the swabs done asap?
Which reminds me I was going to contact them and set that up!!
