Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I just gave my broody Cochin half a dozen barnyard mix eggs yesterday. She looked like she really wanted to be a mama!
Now I'm just going to have to figure out what to with the chickies after they hatch.
How does the chicken market go for mutt chickens?
Three Easter eggers and three pretty big brown eggs. She said the roo is a JG and the females for the brown eggs were wyandottes.

First two eggs.

Yea!!!! Nice size too, both over 2 oz.

Butchered some meaties (himself did) so today I'm going to can some up. I like canned chicken; it's ready cooked, plus, it saves freezer space. While I love to cook, there are those days when I want something simple, but NOT fast food. I might try some fish as well.

Now that the pasture is back (with a vengeance, all that duck and chicken poo made it really lush) we are thinking of getting more poultry. I miss those lovely fresh eggs
