Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Another tator tower can also be made with your plastic feed sacks. slit some drain holes in the bottom,
fill about 1 foot of dirt, plant potatoes. Just add dirt as they grow. This year i am trying it with burlap bags.

Love your veg. boxes Robin, Wish mine looked like that, :)

Hey howdy Eliz !!!!
Yes the feed sacks work great and are actually easier when it comes time to dump the harvest out....with help you can dump the compost into a wheel barrow, and be able to use it again.
With tires, some times when I knock my tower over, they go rolling (HA HA HA !) down the hill !

If anyone needs feed sacks, I have a huge pile....alot were given to me for totes (thankyou all !) and I have had no time to sew anymore.

Oh, well: did my chores and my TJ's trip for the weekend and cleaned under my desk looking for my camera case which was in another room entirely  and I'm getting started on finishing the hatching cage (actually I spent ten minutes this morning doing something small and picky which took me three times as long later in the day.

off into the work zone.

so sad. my 4 month old hen is walking on her hocks :( i'm not sure what to do for her. she is in a cage in the house which is stressful for her but I don't want her to get further hurt or if she is sick to spread it. anyone have any ideas?? she had been fine up until now and fed chick feed. really worried for her. i only have 4 hens and trying to get a flock going for eggs and shes my only welsummer and looks like she's not going to make it :( thanks

Do you know if it is injury or illness related? Did she slip her tendon?

that i do not know. the rest are all fine. she looks perfectly fine too. no sign of illness or injury or parasite. i'm at a loss. if i had to guess i'd say the slip. her hock is tender. i can wiggle her toes etc and not one fuss. but i lightly even touch that hock and she fusses. so that one spot for sure. not sure whats going on with the other leg. it isnt nearly as bad as the other one but it is causing probs. her little leg will go all the way out in front of her sometimes too. when she tries to walk its on her hocks. she can stand but it doesnt last long and soon as she tries to walk its like she is drunk and then down on her hocks. :(
