SF, didn't TC say she had gotten some eggs from CR ?
If so, maybe that one feather-shanked & pouffy-cheeked splash baby is from Fudge ?

Now this is going to drive me crazy...when is she coming back ?

Nope, I only got eggs from you and SF. Can't be a Fav then if neither of you has them.

Edit; must be some kind of weird mutation. The shell was light - hard to tell if green or beige. Thought it was an am at first, then a JG because of the light shell. Now I'm thoroughly confused. (Haven't left yet)

Going down to count toes.

okay, I did some checking, and this chick sure looks like a salmon fav to me too. So, which of the two ladies gave me the egg? I don't have any layers so it can't be one of mine, and the only other older chicks (9 weeks old) I have are S.G. Dorkings.

Couldn't be me, the green eggs were out of one hen/rooster pair of known breeding (and even if I guessed wrong about Bluebelle's mother, Mike has no five-toed hens and never has had them). And I can't see getting anything five-toed out of the Hamburgs, even though they lay pale beige/cream eggs off and on.

Six, so far; she's not leaving the nest for much of anything (these guys couldn't get over the three-inch board so I had to put them in and build a little step). I wonder what the wild-pattern chicks will grow up to be?

Chick on;y had four toes! Not a fav. Must be a weird mutation!

Yeah, I can't figure it out; the only male on the place with featherd legs is the bantam Brahma, and he wasn't out with the laying flock when Bluebelle was an egg (I know exactly when she hatched, because she started breaking into my yard six weeks later :/ ) Her sire was the Pips and Peeps rooster I got from CL; I can't see the other Ameraucana having feather legged ancestry, either (although, you know, gape worm...)

Oh, hey, I have to go get laundry off the line. Best be getting on with that, I suspect. Darn.
