Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

This morning at 7:45 I thought the hens were making more noise than usual. I looked out the kitchen window and thought, "Oh, a little deer is in the horse pasture." Nope! It was a coyote. It was walking 150 feet behind the barn where the pasture drops down a steep hill. By the time I got my shoes on and went outside it was already headed down the hill. I managed to get one shot off but it was headed into the woods. I know it will be back. All chickens and cats are accounted for this time. I wish we could get one of them to make an example for the rest of the pack. A couple of weeks ago they killed a deer in our horse shelter. Yuck!
Keep trying or go for a trap, it is easier & less chance of shooting off a stray round.

Rare Feathers was ready to evacuate a few hours ago, and she's been offered a place for her birds. There are a couple more near Omak but they as still okay right now as far as I know. Utilities & cell towers are affected in many places.
Talk to Teresa ?

Hope she is OK, I e-mail talked to her a few days ago, but she did not elaborate on anything....Heather has told me that after the "school house fire" years ago that came so close to her place, she said "If it happens again, I am OUTTA HERE & moving to the coast"

I hope they are OK !

Heather reported e on FB that they are staying with friends further north, away from the fire. I don't know about Teresa though. I think Omak is okay for now. And we have another member that's north of Omak in Riverside.

Here's an interactive map that can help you keep track of the fires LINK

ETA: As of an hour ago Teresa was ok, she goes to her dad's house to use the internet.

I sent her messages...Tonasket, anyways Aeneas Valley (where I used to live) is fried....so sad !

Does anyone know where to get old English game bantam hatching eggs of the east side of the state? I'm looking for some as my broody was homicidal and sadly killed two of my chicks once they hatched and I stepped out to go get some chick supplies.

If anyone needs to evacuate because of the Fish Trap Lake fires I can house your chickens. 3 of my 5 coops are empty, plus I have a giant brooder and a smaller one that is currently empty, I am in Spokane.

We are saying prayers for everyone being affecting by the fires!

Can anyone help me find some Delaware hens in the Enumclaw area? Looking to start a sex-linked breeding project and I don't want to wait on pullets to find out if I like the results. 2-4 hens, do NOT need to be show quality. Also ISO a dark Cornish roo.
