Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I was just wondering if anyone in Jefferson County WA has any suggestions for a good feed store? I am in Chimacum area, and I go to Cenex, but they were really unreliable as far as actually having chicks last year. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get chicks come spring? (wont be looking any time before April, just want to know the good places now).

I would rather not have to ship chicks in, if I can avoid it.

WAVES!!!!

Nope. I only know of Cenex.
What kind of chicks are you hoping for?

I buy my feed from Bay Hay on Bainbridge Island. It's about an hour from Chimicum according to google maps. I haven't bought chicks there, but I have a couple friends who have and have had no complaints. However, like most feed store chicks, they've just been bought from larger hatcheries and have them shipped there.

I really want a couple of blue laced red Wyandottes and possibly some Marans (not picky as to the kind of Marans). I have a feed store that is about an hour out from where I am, and they have a good selection and good prices, but I hate going so far. Oh well, I will keep my eyes peeled for something clsoer.

If you're up for hatching then check out papas poultry (papa brooder on byc). He sells hatching eggs and chicks of both varieties you're looking for.

I hadn't actually thought of hatching my own. I don't have an incubator or anything, and they are pretty expensive. hmmm. decisions decisions.
