Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

So I would like to know if anyone breeding Silkies has any fertile eggs available. My wife fell in love with silkies at the Clackamas CO Fair. I would like to get 2 eggs for her. Color is not important. Just not looking for any Silkie mixes. I would be willing to drive an hour away from Oregon City. If anyone near me can help me out please PM me with info and cost. I really want to surprise my wife. She knows we were gonna get them in the spring but I was not expecting a broody so early, so it would be a great surprise. We were planning on letting anyone that got broody hatch eggs so we have continuous flow of eggs and meat birds. She just loved how soft the Silkie was and how friendly too.
I wish I did! I have a couple of girls that are laying but aren't with the rooster right now. There is a breeder in Oregon City, Marjorie Best. [email protected]. I would suggest getting more than 2. There is always a chance that they won't hatch. I could throw the rooster in and get some before the show in Chahalis. Can't garantee fertility though. I just got him.

Quote: LOL, LOL, OK, I give. please do not put me in a wire bottom cage. I promise to be good! Please, no solitary confinement! Hey, wait a minute, Now that I think about it being alone is really what I want most and I don't need a mirror so THERE! and cowgirl tough so bring it on!

see where that gets you cowboy! Hmm, I do need a guy who knows how to put a carburator kit on a BCS tiller. Guess I don't know EVERYTHING. Does anyone know of a tutorial online? Think I'm just going to do it myself. Story of my life these days.

My house smells sooooooooo good tonight. I have chicken stock simmering on the stove and a pot roast in the oven. It's toasty warm and I'm just dying here waiting for the roast to finish so I can eat some!!

Maybe I need to make stock right before slaughter day, so I remember what the reward is for doing the messy work. Hmm, when you "stew" a rooster, are you just making stock or do you do something with the meat? I've always used carcasses left over from my roast chickens, so I've never thrown a whole bird in a pot before.

Btw, thank you Slinglings for taking the butterfly bush out of my driveway! I can see the fence again!

You're welcome! It's still in my car, all the plants in there are fogging the windows up :) I plan to plant it tomorrow afternoon, I think it'll be OK until then.

You live so close to Walmart. I go there like once a year, at most, and hate it sooo much. It took me nearly 3 hours to be on my way home. yuck.
