I had an opossum kill a hen one year so they are a danger. I had the german shepherd after it as soon as I found out.

I love that girl. She's so protective of the birds and is quite happy to get praise for destroying something. She leaves alone the things I want left alone. Won't touch the killdeer that nest in the driveway because I told her to leave them be. She chases the geese off instead of trying to kill them.

We had a hav-a-heart trap in the driveway by the closest chicken coop...and the garbage cans, cuz we have a nasty flea-bag Tom cat spraying all over everything (trash cans, cars, back porch, ice chest, you-name-it....

it was so bad it was wafting in the bedroom window enough to make me sick...and the window only open an inch!

I went out & sprayed pet pee enzyme ($$) spray on all the wet cat pee spots I could see all at that level...and it worked, 2 days in a row !

So now I am trying to trap the Tom Cat to cart it off to where ever land......

And I caught a big nasty Poppa Possum instead.......

So Einstein puts the trap in the back of the truck (last time we put it in the van, we ALL got fleas!!

so, no more of that nightmare, Thank you!!!
Anyways, Einstein says he is going across the road back behind Tate's barn to let it go....I said why can't we cart the critter WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy down the road & let it go or it will be right back ???
He argued, I gave in, he left, and about 20 minutes later I realized he was gone a long time....so I went to see if he had left a message on my phone (I never carry my phone around & seldom turn it on) and sure enough!!
So I called him back...and he was STUCK IN THE MUD BEHIND TATE'S BARN IN ABOUT A FOOT OF WATER & please come get me with the minivan & pull me out now !!!!!!!!!!
HE WAS MAD...(.SNICKER!!! )

SO I DID, BUT NO WAY I GOT IN THE WATERY MUD LIKE HE DID....and I tied about 4 long wratchet tie downs together to reach him...DOOFUS !!!

Next time he will go waaaaaaaaaaay down the ROAD (that is a paved ROAD) and then turn the possum loose....

What am I saying...next time h catches a critter he will still take it behind tate's barn & get stuck again...he'll insist there is no more mud there, and of course he'll get stuck again!
MEN!!!!

Funnier than that...while MrPossum was here, I gave him table scraps, a hunk of cheddar cheese, a big wad of scrambled egg, and 2 pieces of whole wheat bred...MrPossum was in HEAVEN and more than likely is already back here waiting for us to trap him again !

Hello fellow Washingtonians.

Thought I would drop by here to see if anyone could answer my call for help. I'm in central Washington area and recently had an 'incedent' with my lovely neighbors and our chickens. Let us say... We've 2 remaining girls. My BR and a GLW.

I am trying to look to the positive. Now, I need to start my layers group over and am considering adding a few Duck! I've researched and gotten my heart set on Welsh Harlequin breed, but can't find any locally!

So if anyone out there knows of some Welsh Harlequin for sale near the area, I am extremely interested.

Said but I most likely would have done the same thing as Mr. Einstein. Wife yell at me all the time for what she consider to common sense but couldn't understand why I can't things her ways. Anyhow.. I continues doing what I'm doing and just fellow up with yes... you were right...
