Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Is there anyone in the Redmond, Sammamish, Issaquah area that has eggs for sale? I only have 1 hen out of 5 laying, and at best I get 5 eggs a week. Not enough for our family.

THANKS!

It is very quiet today I hope they are all having fun. I have been getting 4-5 eggs a day from my RIR girls for about a week. I am so happy with this, I have 20 eggs going into lock down on Sunday, the last ones I hatched I got 8 out of 11 to hatch, my very first time. Jess your insert is awesome I know it will make a big difference this winter. I am glad your chicken is better.

I've been so bummed today! Wishing I could be at the show...but kinda glad I'm sitting by the fire out of the rain ;)
Me too. I really wanted to go. Especially after CR posted that there is going to be 900+ birds there!

But there is too much that needs to be done here with the holidays coming up so fast. I WILL be going to the spring show in Monroe though. Now it's back to work for me. Hope everyone is having fun at the show.

Quote: He's a Lavender Orpington, a bit more than five months old. He's good when I'm around, but it seems that all bets are off when I'm not around.
Oh ok, darn. I have someone looking for a RIR rooster, was hoping I could help you and her. Sorry, hope you find him a home!
Quote: Nope, sorry (well, the right breed); I want Porcelein and that's a very pretty quail.

I've learned, over the years, that the best way for me not to end up with more things than I can handle is to desire very specific and narrowly defined sorts of things: the more unusual and difficult to find the better for my budget!

(The coding on this is all sideways, but I'm too tired to fix it, sorry.
No prob, just thought I would throw it out there for ya. I had her, her twin, a white bantom (not the same breed) and 5 silkies in a tractor coop that something dug under and got every one but this little girl. I love her to death, when ever I come out she runs up to me and jumps up into my hand and just sits with me. Now you would think this was not that neat or impressive cause a lot of you hold your girls a lot when they are chicks to make them this way, but this (as well as the others she was housed with) had NEVER been held! She is just naturally sweet I guess. The only reason I am trying to find her a home is because I do not have any other chickens this small, I mean she is tiny.

If any one would like to give this tiny girl a more size appropriate home let me know!

I have five quail d'Anvers of my own and two other bantams as well. I could certainly give your darling girl a home, if you'd like.
That would be really great. I really want to keep her but I do not intend on getting any more tiny chickens, the only smaller ones I have are bantom cochins and they are still twice her size.
Anyone hear if Mikey is OK?
Haven't seen him post in some time.
I was going to ask the same thing. I hope he is ok. Maybe we should ask again later when everyone gets back from the show, see if he showed up there.
Quote: I also wish I could have gone, but a two hour drive with 5 kids would not have been a good idea. Can't wait for every one to get back and post pic and tell us what the show was like.

Here at work hoping everyone in Chehalis is having fun. Can't wait to see pictures and hear reports.

Down to one egg from six layers, molting is taking its toll. My Sicilian Buttercup looks like a Araucana, with all her tail feathers missing and her gorgeous comb small and shriveled at the moment.

Aww, poor thing! My Belgians are starting to look a little better. Here's one of them when it was really bad. You can't actually tell how bad it was from this angle, but that's probably for the best.
