Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Okay the head of the night crew is heading for bed. At least DH is in it, and the bed is made, which is much better that last night.

My DH and I had a wonderful time and the sheer crowd of people and exhibits astounded us! It was everything and more I was hoping for. Came home with pullets, chicks, and eggs. Will post pictures later today. I'm already thinking ahead to Monroe.

Image taken around 8:30 am. People and birds still filling the barn.

It took great restraint to not come home with white La Fleche chicks. My husband being there probablly made a difference, too. Husbands are like that.

I'm glad you liked the soup, Chickielady. It really is good in the cold weather.
I made the mistake of laying down on the bed to talk to Mom. I've stiffened up and can barely move again.
The new birds figured out where their sleeping quarters were without any issues. We'll see how they are tomorrow.
Being so cold yesterday made me achy & kind of have a ear ache today.
The cold/wet probably did n't help you either !

Quote: Just so you know, It was a great show but I love the large fowl. There were lots of birds but many many of the same breed and mostly Bantam. So not a lot of diversity of breeds and not a lot of large fowl. If you are in to Bantams there were LOTS. Buuuut, So much goes into these shows behind the scenes that we never see. So many people dedicating their time to make it all possible, so I don't care if it was mostly Bantams, it was a great show because it is so much more than that. It's peeps coming together for the CHICKENS! Come one come all! I had a great time. Thank you everyone for all your hard work!
I'm with you, I LOVE the large fowl chickens. I have mostly Cochins and Brahmas. Can't wait for them to be full grown. They are only 3 months old and already almost as big as the Javas and EE's I got from Chickielady that are about a year old. I do have 1 Silkie cockerel, he's a sweetie so he can stay.

I missed you and a lot of other peeps today! DH and I had to leave early and I never found a place I could leave the fudge since I needed to take my container home with me. I think CR and Diane were the only ones who got a piece.

I missed not having a more centralized place to meet. I was just catching up with folks as I saw them, and was spending a lot of time by the Seramas and Serama demo table because if I hatch any of our own babies this spring I might want to start showing next year.
So I'm looking forward to Monroe now and CL, I will just bring you your own container of pb fudge for the next show!

I also wanted to say that it was so hard to hear the speakers that were there...I could barely hear a word they said.
Too bad there had not been either a PA system for them to talk into, or a seperate room to hold their seminars.....maybe next time we can set the speakers up in a quieter area ??????
