Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

The problems start with the people who only see dollar signs. "I paid this much for this female so I'll make her have litter after litter and sell puppies to make tons of money." Then they don't do any health care on the puppies because that takes away from how much they make. Or they sell off the puppies too early because puppy food costs even though they are feeding the cheapest stuff. Or they use a male with known very bad hips to father all the litters on the female.

I actually know a couple people who were doing that. I yelled at the one who had two female border collies and a male with the bad hip dysplasia. They quit talking to me. All those people thought they were getting good dogs because AKC.

The other was cross breeding chihuahuas and dachshunds. I'd put her as a puppy mill. Had around 20 female chihuahuas kept in kennels with little care and two male dachshunds. They had a new litter every month. $2000 a puppy gone at 6 weeks. Not one of those animals saw a vet.

Someone taking care of their animals and only breeding healthy ones is a different critter compared to those who only see the money, not the animal.

Then there is my pet peeve. An f1 cross breed is not a new breed. It's a mutt. It takes several generations of breeding true to be a new breed.
And they can be interbred to the point of problems also, just like all other beings.
What I do not get is why a mix (a mutt in my mind) is suddenly worth up to 10 x more than a purebred animal ?
Like a Coca-poo-huahua or a Chi-poo-errier ?
Come on now !
These dogs are mutts, we saw this happen all the time with dogs roaming free in the neighborhood...they should never coast more than a pure bred animal.
never.

I know someone who would argue with Websters over the meaning of a word

I always kind of laughed at the idea of a designer dog. Then one day my friend informed me that I had one. I told her she was crazy. But then she said don't you know? You have a springador. Springer lab across. That is actually a thing. Well my 15-year-old spring a door has hip dysplasia, and I know the people bread at least three litters. I love my dog and wouldn't trade her for the world and I have given her a good life but they should never have bread the dogs.
My parents have a Labringer.they adopted in front of a grocery store like the good ol'days, when you went shopping, you could always find a pet too !
Molly has been & still is an awesome smart dog!

Hello Washington BYC! I just joined BYC last night and a really nice person directed me to this thread with others grommets Washington. I live in Seattle at the moment but will be moving to the country soon. I'm here to learn as much as possible before getting 4-5 chickens (for eggs and feathered pets). My husband had chickens when he was growing up but it's all new to me. Looking forward you earning so much from all of you. I'm super excited!!!

Welcome !!
Pop in any time & ask any questions !

Einstein is on his way home after visiting all 4 of his daughters and his Dad & step mom................
So I asked him on the phone what he wants for dinner when he gets here.................

He says anything but spaghetti...............
Apparently he arrived at his Dad's to find Step Mom had made spaghetti & meatballs & garlic bread...yum, so the next day he drove to daughter #1s in San Francisco, where she had spaghetti & garlic bread and salad all ready...................
gig.gif

The next day he drove to daughter #2s who had, spaghetti & meatballs & garlic bread all ready...........and the next day he drove to daughter #4s who Bar-be-cued chicken, apparently he thought the evil spaghetti curse had been lifted, cuz he was getting ready to say something about all the spaghetti...like maybe they were doing it on purpose (and I am SO ITALIAN) like they thought they could compete with MY spaghetti...LOL
So he had BBQ at her house & went to see daughter #3 the next day.......and you guessed it, they had a big table set with RAVIOLI and garlic bread & salad !!!!!!!!!!!!!
So then he drives back to his Dad's and is afraid to ask what is for dinner..................
And then step MOM puts dinner on the table (and it smells like spaghetti again !) and calls everyone into the dining room DINNER"S READY!!!!!!!!!!
And so in they go.....and it is LASAGNA garlic bread & salad !!!

lau.gif

So maybe I should make pizza for dinner...just to round out all the rest ?
In case they didn't know..........
Pizza and Lasagna are Sicilian, not Italian.
Italians do have a rustic crusty pizza-like dish...but actual Pizza and Lasagna is Sicilian.
I know, at my Grandmother's house once (her name was America Maria Carnelli Cenini) she asked us what we wanted for dinner, she was all ready to cook for us kids (She had a restaurant/bar for years & years) and we said PIZZA!
And she gave us the lecture !!!

Pizza is NOT ITALIANO !!!
somad.gif

So we said, OK, we'll have Lasagna !

and you can only guess what she was saying after the long slew of Italian cuss words we could not understand, but we could see she was mad.......................
lau.gif

She made us a delicacy of whole calve's brains saute'd in btter...and eggs, for breakfast.
I cannot tell you how strange it is to peek over a skillet & see a brain sizzling away...........

We made her mad alot, without even trying.
OK, pizza or BBQ burgers for dinner ???

Anyone have an auto room vacuumer ?
There is so many out these days & for great prices !

Check these out, and if you click on the photo of the vacuum, a window should pop up & tell you current prices...

My parents are getting on, and wether they can SEE all the floor dirt & dog hair or if they just cannot keep up with the house work, I don't know..but the floor is black with dog hair & is drifted up onto surfaces everytime someone walks !
After a while the hair & dust is dusted on everything from tall dressers to lamps to counters & soap....yuck !

I think an auto vacuum is just what they need.
So if anyone has had one, or does have one...please give me a reveiw.
This needs to be good on dog hair, do baseboards really well, self dock & recharge, and laser/map so it remembers where it is.
It also needs to be easy to operate, like easy to shut off to empty, require no dang blasted programming (I hate that !) and hopefully have a long life & great guarrantee.

Ok, anybody ?
