Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

They learn so much from mom and littermates. Athena was 8 weeks when we got her and could have used another month with mom. Zeus was 16 weeks but at the shelter with his litter for a couple days. It's a high kill shelter. We should have taken another one as well. He's a perfect dog.

He sure is beautiful and so protective of you...he defended you from quite a few issues hasn't he ?

Both dogs chased off the buck that was coming for me one fall. Athena thinks it's her sworn duty to make sure no deer or elk stay on the front of the property. Once the herds are away from that area she comes back. No amount of yelling on my part will convince her they aren't a threat. She's also my rat and starling exterminator.

On the trip back from my parent's house this last weekend we stopped in Ellensburg for a short break. I was taking dogs out while hubby was inside. This suspicious looking guy was wandering through the parking lot and saw me over a few vehicles and started coming towards me with the old panhandling speil "I ran out of gas, can you spare some money". I don't carry cash and told him that. He kept coming towards me until he came around a vehicle and saw Athena. Then he took a step back and left. She was being a good girl.

But then we'd got her as a puppy after then break-in because people see german shepherd and freak out. Hubby always wanted one because he likes their looks.

Neither dog walks super well on a leash. They forget how it works since they only wear one a couple times a year. We'll be walking and they will see something and try to walk over and check it out.

If I tell them to come they will follow me around, but they usually do that anyway. So do the cats and sometimes half the large hens depending on what I'm doing.

Einstein is on his way home after visiting all 4 of his daughters and his Dad & step mom................
So I asked him on the phone what he wants for dinner when he gets here.................

He says anything but spaghetti...............
Apparently he arrived at his Dad's to find Step Mom had made spaghetti & meatballs & garlic bread...yum, so the next day he drove to daughter #1s in San Francisco, where she had spaghetti & garlic bread and salad all ready...................
:gig
The next day he drove to daughter #2s who had, spaghetti & meatballs & garlic bread all ready...........and the next day he drove to daughter #4s who Bar-be-cued chicken, apparently he thought the evil spaghetti curse had been lifted, cuz he was getting ready to say something about all the spaghetti...like maybe they were doing it on purpose (and I am SO ITALIAN) like they thought they could compete with MY spaghetti...LOL
So he had BBQ at her house & went to see daughter #3 the next day.......and you guessed it, they had a big table set with RAVIOLI and garlic bread & salad  !!!!!!!!!!!!!
So then he drives back to his Dad's and is afraid to ask what is for dinner..................
And then step MOM puts dinner on the table (and it smells like spaghetti again !) and calls everyone into the dining room DINNER"S READY!!!!!!!!!!
And so in they go.....and it is LASAGNA garlic bread & salad !!!

:lau
So maybe I should make pizza for dinner...just to round out all the rest ?
In case they didn't know..........
Pizza and Lasagna are Sicilian, not Italian.
Italians do have a rustic crusty pizza-like dish...but actual Pizza and Lasagna is Sicilian.
I know, at my Grandmother's house once (her name was America Maria Carnelli Cenini) she asked us what we wanted for dinner, she was all ready to cook for us kids (She had a restaurant/bar for years & years) and we said PIZZA!
And she gave us the lecture !!!

Pizza is NOT ITALIANO !!!
So we said, OK, we'll have Lasagna !
:rant  and you can only guess what she was saying after the long slew of Italian cuss words we could not understand, but we could see she was mad.......................:lau
She made us a delicacy of whole calve's brains saute'd in btter...and eggs, for breakfast.
I cannot tell you how strange it is to peek over a skillet & see a brain sizzling away...........

:sick  We made her mad alot, without even trying.
OK, pizza or BBQ burgers for dinner ???
:lau
Pizza and salad

I do not give a rat's *ss what they said it is not a breed now I wil
step of my my soap box

I didn't say I thought it was a breed. I said other people thought it was, I don't think any designer dogs are true breeds. At least not yet. my dog is a mutt and I love her.

I've seen my Zues' mix be called a texas heeler. He's still a mix. Over where mom is, Australian shepherds, border collies, and blue heelers are used and crossbred for use on the farms. All of them are called cowdogs.

Do the chickens abuse the knowledge that the dog doesn't want to hurt them? My big girls do with my german shepherd. Certain girls will even take things out of her mouth. My aussie mix doesn't put up with it and knows how they are so he takes his stuff far away from them.

Aspen growles and lunges but they are pretty darn brave. She only throws a fit if they try to get her duck necks.

Quote: one of my craziest also nothing else can get me in a rant as that they believe they have this cool new dog
now it dead at 10 from hip displasia, grand mal seizures because the puppy mill does no testing
does not care above what they can claim they are

Is anyone else tired of the rain and mud
