well survived making dinner without burning anything

I've forgotten I had eggs cooking before. I was inside though and Athena alerted me when it started making odd sounds. I never go outside with a burner on unless it's slow cooking stew. Paranoia driven into me when I was a kid by mom

Well tired to burn the house down today I cook up eggs regular for the
dogs pulled eggs from garage fridge found 2 dozen frozen or almost
it is a very old mini it was on 4 but as temps cooled I turned it back to
2 brought the frozen in the house took the ones not frozen put them in a pot on the stove
walked out towards the chickens messed around out there came back in thought
the house was on fire was gone longer than I knew my BF cleaning around the stove but
could smell the fire smoke eggs exploded pot fried

so  promised myself to tell others
when i am turning a burner on

I have a house chicken now. Our favorite Barred Rock hen is molting and hasn't been eating enough. She spends her days hiding from the flock, so hasn't been getting enough feed. Got her set up in one of the broody cages. Hopefully, she'll be able to head back out after a few days of unlimited food.

That sounds like my pink Easter Egger. I thought about bringing her back in the house again but she is starting to eat more although she feels very light to me compared to the others.

I have burned hard boiled eggs so many times that I use egg cookers now. I have 3 and the eggs cook faster so I am less likely to walk away from them but once all the water heats into steam the eggs can't keep cooking. Mine have alarms so I know the eggs are done and I can unplug them right away but I don't know what would happen if the heat was not turned off for a prolonged time.

Here's hoping my new faverolles leg is better this morning. Found her limping the other night. No obvious injuries, no bumble or Anything noticeable besides the limp.

Favs have got to be the most delicate birds I have ever owned.
