Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

No I don't put light in there. I've decided that since I plan on keeping them their whole lives I don't want to have them lay all their eggs at a young age. So I get enough eggs for myself and some to sell to my best customer. In the spring I'll be over run with eggs :)

They have more than 100 or 300 in their lifetime. It's just how long it takes them to lay those eggs. Artificial light will keep them lane at times of the year that they normally wouldn't. That's all. It's a personal choice on whether you want to provide artificial light or not. There's no judgment call.

The ducks don't use the doghouse for shelter but they were gathered around their new protector today while it was raining (which melted the snow and ice). I am loving how calm they are with her and how she watches over them.
