I had a bird die suddenly and took it to the Avian Health Lab in Puyallup.

It's best to refrigerate the dead bird and bring the bird to the lab as soon as possible after death. I brought my dead bird in in the morning and they emailed me the necropsy report that afternoon. They don't charge you when you drop off the bird, they send you a bill a week or two later. I think it was $30. There is a form to fill out that you can download and complete before you go there, or you can fill it out there. The information I got from them was very helpful. I will definitely do that again if I have another unexplained death.
