I haven't been on in a while. It's hard find time in the evenings after doing all of my outside chores and working all day. I am sure most of you are lugging water or stressing about your animals. I am definitely not looking forward to another week of single digit and and below zero weather. I worry too much about my livestock.
I have been letting one coop out at a time on sunny days. I just want them to get some natural light. I alternate coops and the chickens seem to like it. I have been pretty vigilant about checking combs etc. Anyone have any awesome tricks for your chickens, ducks, cows, pigs or other animals to keep warm in this horrible weather?

Chickens are wearing down coats 24/7. They don't need any help keeping warm. They do need shelter from wind, though, and a well ventilated coop with roosts away from any drafts.

just got home from visit with Mom stopping for dog food on the way home have not had a chance to look
at mine but rolling is normal

Sven and Ole were traveling from Minnesota to Kansas to see their cousin. They telephoned him before they left and said that they would see him in a few days. One month later, they arrived at their cousin's house and the cousin asked them what took them so long to arrive. Sven answered, "Well, when we got to the first rest stop there was a sign that read 'CLEAN RESTROOMS,' so we did. Do you know how many rest stops there are between here and Minnesota?"

And what is with the hatching eggs with lines drawn on them ?

I do not disturb....I candel at 10 days and sometimes not even that.
That's me....I do not handle the eggs once they are in the incubator.
I DO sniff, though...we keep a close eye, I mean NOSE on any smells...LOL

A guy gets drunk and when the bar closes his friends take him home. Putting him to bed, they notice a big gong on the wall. "What's with the gong." "It's a talking clock", the drunk replies. "Watch..." He picks up a mallet next to the bed and hits the gong loudly. A moment later, they hear a voice from the other side of the wall say, "Hey idiot — it's 2:15 in the morning!"

That sounds delicious! I've been on a semi forced vegetarian diet since my daughter is staying with me!
