We don't have Pekins. We kept them briefly to sell as pairs all because I had a Pekin hen that needed a companion. We ended up getting two mixed gender flocks to make breeding pairs but then sold all the hens together and all the ganders together except for the one breeding pair. We raise Australian Spotted bantam sized ducks.

I don't know anything about ducks but that one is really pretty. I hope you were able to find him again.
That is a Sebastopol Goose.they have awesome curly feathers !

I blame her longevity on her being a Schipperke/American Eskimo mix. She's hard of hearing, doesn't see well, and has arthritis, but she doesn't let any of that slow her down.
My Samantha was fine at 16, but deaf and going blind...so she went nuts (45 miles an hour) up hill & dale looking for me, and could not hear my call, and when I touched her she would jump until she realized it was my touch.
I caught her running up hills and could barely catch her in time before she went into roads...I am not the spring chicken either...the dog was faster and I almost lost her in the woods so many times.
We had to tether her...even then, a touch sent her screaming as she could not see/hear....it was very sad

We fixed the coop to keep her out now but the ducks only have one nest box since they prefer to make their own nests and change to a new nest when we steal their eggs. I am looking for ideas but for now we are out grabbing eggs off the ground as frequently as possible.
So, your foot/ankle is OK this year ?
So you can get out there & deal with your birds ?
I know for so long you were unable to get around very well..

A friend of mine had skipper keys, she said that they can get to 20 years old. Aspen had hip dysplasia a slow she was on remedyl tramadol and gabapentin as well as the liquid health glucosamine 5000. But eventually the arthritis and nerve damage got to her and her back legs just quit on her.
I highly recommend that liquid health glucosamine stuff. They have different formulas, it's not cheap but I think it's good stuff. And no I do not have stock in the company :)
We give Jack Glucosemine/condroitin, DM and Hyraluric acid caps that I take.............the amounts are the same....so I buy a giant bottle at one of 2 web sites like one is Pure Formulas...the other is Vitacost/ I think off the top of my brain......
Along with a giant bottle of salmon oil........so Jack gets 1 cap sprinkled on his kibbies, and a salmon cap opened & dripped on his kibbies...Pure Formulas Kibbies....he likes it.
We also give him healthy meat scraps...not fat.
We also give him scrambled eggs.
