Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Lost my favorite old hen yesterday. Can't figure out what happened... She was in a weird spot in the coop. Just a couples days ago she was out free ranging and looked great! I knew I was going to loose her one of these days as she was 9 years old. She was the last of the first group of chickens I got from my aunt. She will be missed.

She was a sassy thing and always getting into trouble!

They are a barnyard mix. Lots of Olive Eggers. Some are showing frizzled feathering, which I'm excited about!

I can have 10... might try to stretch that "a bit"... lol
oh my goodness! How could you not keep them all? After 5 it's hard to keep count. I mean they move soo fast. Remember " chicken math." Lol!

I'm so sorry! It's so hard losing them. I keep saying my next pet will be a tortoise that lives for 200 years...

So what do they do that's so annoying so far they are a bit sloppy with water but I raised there waters and that was a big help. They have not made a peep so far and are very friendly

They get loud and they don't have as much personality as other breeds. My husband made me promise never to get any again and he loves our Australian Spotted ducks. Our ducks are just so amusing while the Pekins were not as friendly.

I am sorry. Nine years old is pretty good for a chicken isn't it? But it only makes it harder when you lose them. My oldest chickens are only three years old right now. What kind of chicken where is she? Did she have a name?
