Ah, yes. No boys! LOL. Girls can have CAVES too! But the outside sports one of Rustlers bells! Thats part of the coolness! The inside is a secret.

Heres my cave. AKA the tack room/chick brooder (human and chooks, LOL)room/ winter veggie storage room. Since it has a heater for the tack it has winter squash and onions in there now. Rustlers bell is on the left. I need to lower it though. You can't see the horseshoe handle.

It's actually a Cauliflower so don't know why some catalogs call it Broccoli. Tastes like Cauliflower, little more of a nutty taste. I just steam it.

Well I had the exam with a REAL eye Dr. this am. He had to remove more foreign body and rust ring from my eye. Put a contact bandage on my eyeball and said I have to come back tomorrow. Also bring a driver as I won't be able to see well when he gets done tomorrow. He really didn't like it when I told him I have no driver but I can drive by braille just fine. I am just about ready for this to be over. I am tired of the hurt and blurred vision!! And then there's the bill. Just for today $461.

Wow, sorry about that. Eye issues are painful and it helps to be able to see!

My favorite way to cook Romanesco is to roast it in a bound breading of cracker crumbs, garlic, good parmesan cheese, and a little oregano. It is way more like cauliflower than broccoli, and makes prettier pickles than plain cauliflower.

WOw, everyone must be busy with holiday plans? IT's been a while since anyone converse, anyone gonna be around tonight? DH is at work and I"m watching TV. THis must be what normal people do. I've been without for 2.5 years and now that we have TV it's such a novelty! LOL I battled the darn fire this evening. I accidentally let it go out to the point I couldn't just throw another log on. No kindling. Just paper available. I battled to start that stupid log for about an hour and finally have a fire! I need DH to chop me some kindling about once a week just to have on hand in case of accidental brain fart. I'm just glad it started again rather than having to turn on the heater. I certainly have no strength to chop kindling, no matter if I know I *could* do it. Bummer.

I'll post a pic of my coop and run. The run is about 6 x 10. I built most of the run before I broke my wrist in late June. My nephew has done some of the work putting the suntuf corregate on the top.



This (Suntuf) is what is covering a portion of it. Now I'm thinking maybe I should cover more of the roof.
