I keep coming here to post this and getting distracted. This weather radar is the most useful for Puget Sound and as far south as maybe Bucoda; there's a Portland one that comes north to Longview which leaves a lot of people stuck with the lower resolution Tacoma radar scan. On days like this, when there's intermittant showers, it's an invaluable aide to planning one's day, so you can get your coat on just before the sunbreak comes instead of just after, and are thus more likely to finish before getting doused.

Yes peeps, I'd LOVE pictures of your bells, I'm totally interested in one! Might have to make a trip down south in a week or so to get me a bell and visit CR.

I used to take my mom to that place before we moved her to Oregon. She was very happy with them. Are they in Centralia still? She used to have to go down there, but then they opened up a huge facility in Tacoma.

Renee - have you thought about putting up a tarp around your run to protect the girls until you get that plexiglass? I was thinking about that today and even though they wouldn't have anything to look at, at least they'd still be warm and dry in the run instead of only the coop being dry. I have been thinking about putting a tarp up on mine as well for the winter, but don't know if it's necessary yet. I'm thinking of putting a tarp along the whole house side and door side of the run, they'd still have the whole front of the run to look out and for ventilation, but would stay warmer and dryer in there with the driving rain. WDYT?

Those Romanesco broccoli were fascinating, I would like to try one.

And if anyone is thinking of getting Muscovy from Totalcolour, I can vouch that they are very tasty birds!

Lulu, Brigitta, and Otto went to new homes this weekend. I decided this was as good a time as I'm going to get to introduce the little girls (hatched at the end of September) into the Spitz pen. Dotty and Dolly have given them a few pecks, just enough to show them who they have to respect. I think shaking up the pecking order before introducing new birds is a good idea.
