OK about the bells. They are all different in tone and size. The ones that I have now which were at the show may be the end of my bells for a bit. My source of materials has gone. I will try to get some pics. Maybe somebody that has one could please post. OK kiddo's I gotta go eyes are killin me now. will try get back L8R.

I keep coming here to post this and getting distracted. This weather radar is the most useful for Puget Sound and as far south as maybe Bucoda; there's a Portland one that comes north to Longview which leaves a lot of people stuck with the lower resolution Tacoma radar scan. On days like this, when there's intermittant showers, it's an invaluable aide to planning one's day, so you can get your coat on just before the sunbreak comes instead of just after, and are thus more likely to finish before getting doused.

I'll try to see if there's any tall tanks around; there's been too much going on since I tried the last time, as is the way of farmers.

That's awesome! I saved the first one. It was perfetly accurate too!

Yes peeps, I'd LOVE pictures of your bells, I'm totally interested in one! Might have to make a trip down south in a week or so to get me a bell and visit CR.

Quote: Yes I know eyes heal fast. However I have never had one that was "fixed" hurt as long as this one. I think after today all will be good. The doc gave me antibiotic drops to use too. now it is just the sore from him grinding the rust ring out and the irritation of the contact bandage. These people are some of the best around (Pacific Cataract Laser Institute) but the doc had no humor about the idea that I am willing to remove the contact bandage myself. I told him it's really not a big deal heck I remove my own stitches and in fact have had them put in without being numb.

Oh and Renee thanks for the offer to help with the bator last night. I will be "storing" this 5KW genset here until spring so I shouldn't have to worry. thanks again

I used to take my mom to that place before we moved her to Oregon. She was very happy with them. Are they in Centralia still? She used to have to go down there, but then they opened up a huge facility in Tacoma.

Renee - have you thought about putting up a tarp around your run to protect the girls until you get that plexiglass? I was thinking about that today and even though they wouldn't have anything to look at, at least they'd still be warm and dry in the run instead of only the coop being dry. I have been thinking about putting a tarp up on mine as well for the winter, but don't know if it's necessary yet. I'm thinking of putting a tarp along the whole house side and door side of the run, they'd still have the whole front of the run to look out and for ventilation, but would stay warmer and dryer in there with the driving rain. WDYT?

Finally caught up again, whew.

CR, if I didn't have something going on tomorrow I'd drive down there to get you!

Those Romanesco broccoli were fascinating, I would like to try one.

Loved the photos of CGG's beautiful horses.
And if anyone is thinking of getting Muscovy from Totalcolour, I can vouch that they are very tasty birds!

Lulu, Brigitta, and Otto went to new homes this weekend. I decided this was as good a time as I'm going to get to introduce the little girls (hatched at the end of September) into the Spitz pen. Dotty and Dolly have given them a few pecks, just enough to show them who they have to respect. I think shaking up the pecking order before introducing new birds is a good idea.
