View attachment 1108328 Anyone feed there birds Calendula I planted about a half of a raised bed and a few grow bags full I have picked over 1,200 flowers so far and they are just getting started picking about 200 a day now. They are supposed to have many health benefits including boosting the immune system. You can also make saves for cuts, scraps and sunburn and make tea.

okay no cannot say I feed it but have the new feed will take a closer look to see if it may be in there

Grew some this year. Chickens haven't been interested in them, but the rabbits like them and they make for nice cutting flowers. Got a few vases of them around the house.

I just picked another 212 I dry them and grind up then add to there feed in the winter.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a hatchery to use to buy Indian Runner ducklings from? These are going to be pets not show.

Also, are there any breeders located in Washington for these birds?

I got mine from a feed store that sources from Ideal Poultry. Healthy birds that have started laying at 20 weeks old. Pretty teal blue eggs. And definitely have the trademark runner build.

I want to make sure I get females only this time. We only have 3 feed store in town. One never received their shipment of ducks at all this year. One only orders a straight run of a straight run. This is a random selection of mixed duck breeds & sexes. They couldn't even tell me which were which breed. The 3rd feed store, which is where I originally bought my 4, only gets 1 shipment a year (black & fawn). None of the feed stores will let you pick your ducklings (minus the color if they have a choice) so you cannot sex them. They also will not sex them for you. It is all random to keep it fair.

All of the ducklings I bought ended up being boys. I have bought more to raise my female population up and sold two of the boys off. Now I have 2 boys and 4 girls. Hence, I cannot take the risk of picking random ducks.

The one feed store will place an order for you of all girls but you have to order a minimum of 15 ducklings. Unfortunately my yard cannot handle this, nor will my husband allow me to do this. I also cannot find anyone that be interested to go in on ordering ducklings with me.

So I need to either find a breeder in Washington near me or order some from a hatcher. The husband is not thrilled about ducklings.

I do understand the dilemma but also why they call it chicken math I bought 110 ameracauna hoping to have 6 or 8 pullets taking the rest to auction only keeping on cockerel there is a auction up your way also but not sure where but google showed this https://www.farmranch.org/company-marysville-livestock-auction-in-marysville-wa-64649
