Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

That could set them off but daylight loosing is the strongest reason have you noticed sllot of feathers in the coop? they first molt may be happening also

yes, three have molted recently, so I was expecting only the other three to keep laying since they are about 8 months old and had started laying daily. maybe I need a brighter light bulb, but last year, all I did was add a few windows and had good laying up until the end of december.

it is rather normal they slow down this time of year and the molting may not lay again till after the solstice when days start to lengthen again

I am moving to Spokane, WA and will be in Spokane for about a year for work (west side of town).

My 7 hens mean the world to me, and am worried that I cannot take them with me.

Does anyone know of any potential homes for rent that will allow me to bring them?

I own an Omlet Cube as well as an Omlet Walk-in Run, so it's aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I am also meticulous at cleaning the coop and I clean it weekly.

Hoping to hear some promising news from this forum.

I'm including a photo of my babies for sympathy :)

I do not use them at all have you looked a tsc online ? I am legally blind was given birds as the owner was moving, near lost a leg I did not know was on a pullet.

Any West Siders know any stores that sell numbered poultry bands?

Have to order them. I have never seen them in a store

The numbered ones are pretty safe since they will just spread open as the leg grows. With the leg feathers, I use a size 9 on the silkie hens. Same size as my ameraucana hens wear. Roosters get a size 11.

Double check those pullets I gave you. I'm pretty sure I removed the zip tie bands that marked fathers. I always put zip ties on very loosely.
