I have always given them theme names. It makes it easier to remember when I got each one.

Somewhere I have written down their birthdates. I always get them in groups of three or four. I’m afraid that if I get two and one dies then that would be a big problem to integrate. Some I have given away, two have died. I am not very creative so it’s getting harder to come up with names. I have a total of eight right now, and plan to get four chicks next month to get to my maximum number of 12.

My first two ameraucana were Angel and Duke. Was going for Angel and the Badman and since it was a John Wayne film I got Duke.

My first silkies were hatchery birds. Two were males. The buff was mean and the blue nice. So Marty and Biff.

See I have 16 in the main coop that is 2 shy of the max for it but they all get along great buy still have a cockerel to rehome or take to auction they are both very nice lavender Americana junebug said bread to anything but their own would produce black chicks well have 6 of those just now anyways but most often I know the ones hatched here that is 2 miss noisy and her twin that rarely says anything so I know them but really have not named any but that is how I was raised

Oh, I have a Marans but she doesn’t have feathers on her legs. Probably because she is a hatchery bird I don’t know.
