Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Need non-hatchery silkies or cochins to have almost guaranteed broodies. Large fowl cochins are big fluffy birds that are what you want of you're hatching stuff other than chickens.

Cochins are very reliably broody and second only to silkies.

Silkies can be annoyingly broody. Mine usually go broody 3 times a year on average.

I now have 4 silkies that have gone broody since Friday. Going to set silkie mix eggs

I have 2 cochins and one orapington but they are still babies lol my 9 hens are Isa Browns and they are more like dogs then chickens :lau

Mine hasn't been to bad yet I have a reach it that I use to retrieve eggs I can lift her with it ;) she does't have a chance to get mean that or I ope the tub and lift her tush out
:lau:lau that's too funny... my girls literally you can stick your hand under them and just get their eggs. My Isa Browns are our first breed of chicken we bought. They come when they are called, come running to you to greet you and want pets, back scratches and to be held. They are funny. Will be interesting to see what these other breeds will be like when they get bigger!
