Good morning everyone!

Thank you for all the well wishes - Princess Buttercup is happy to have her buddy back, but the rest of the chickens could care less!

I've been waking our chickens at 6 a.m., turning on the porch lights and getting everyone out of the coop hoping a little added awake time will give us a few eggs.

So far it has not worked - but I've already had time to go out and hang with the girls and give them some treats and some extra treats & cuddle time with Frodo. So happy to have her back!

G'morn everybody. Wow, #1 son was up early and about and he got all 5 new smoke alarms installed.

What prompted this was a "free" dinner for 4 at the Panda. This was hosted by Bill Osborn. The info was very informative. If you would like his number and other info, pm me and I will supply you with same.

Note: I did not use his equipment due to price consideration and my fixed income.

So last night while I was trolling around on BYC, my DW comes and sit next to me and starts reading posts. She has never shown interest in BYC before. She was really interested in peoples Sig lines. Maybe someday I can suck her into joining. She works on a computer all day so she doesn't like being on one in her free time. But that may change when she has her "own" chickens hopefully after next week.

Well we found out we did not get the House! There were 6 offers on it and ours was 2nd highest, I guess I have to keep looking. So bumbed.

Jennifer, your Tika looks like a brown leghorn to me! I have one ans she looks just like Tika.

Anyone elts going to go to Bothell feed Center on December 8th For the buy one get one half off sale? If so we should meet up there.

I have a quick question, if no one here knows then I Will go to the Turkey forum and ask.....
Do turkeys lay through the winter or with sup. lighting? Because I just got a Turkey egg this morning!

Oh wow! I looked at pics online and I think you're right! That explains the really pointy comb. If you're right, then Tikka is a girl.

But I didn't want a leghorn for my flock. Tikka is too flighty and fast.

Would you like a second leghorn? Here is another pic of Tikka that I took yesterday:



Tikka is a nice bird, just rather jumpy and independent. He/she will do almost anything for mealworms, and is fast enough to snatch them out of your fingers when you offer them to other birds. Ninja chicken!

OK, it's been almost a week, about time I had better photos, right? Although this one was taken under a big CFL and even color-corrected is a little ooky:

These are beautiful little birds but I can see how they could be mistaken for pigeons or doves.

She's Home!!

I'm soooo happy!

She was at the neighbor's house, and then flew to another neighbor's house, then another! I met a lot of neighbors and got very wet - but I'm SOOOO happy!

I was so depressed earlier - thank you all for your encouraging words!

One more happy dance!

So glad she's okay!

I was wondering which chickens were demolishing my frost free nozzle protector... today I found out!!... was busy LMAO so the quality is a bit shaky... she let me take it off her...practically begged me to!

That is so funny! I wonder if that means she won't try to go after the next one.
