He's going to be a handsome rooster when he grows up. Waiting to see what the comb looks like. Right now it looks more like the ameraucana comb than a silkie comb. I love his little tiny head crest of feathers

I wanted pictures and these two know they can fly. So I improvised with some leather cord. Caught them and slipped on the cord. No knots so it couldn't get too tight. Just doubled the cord over and ran the ends through then slid foot it.

pretty guy actually I agree he is quite nice I would love to see him grown
that is a darn good idea,, We spent the day working on wire the crazy white dog discovered she could hop on the nesting box bend the wire to get in chicken yard
at the new improved coop my ameracauna broody is in there

They will be the foundation of a silkie easter egger project if I decide to do that. 2 pullets and a cockerel.

Half the next generation would be silkie feathered and would just have to work on body type while selecting for egg color

Might be exciting I had the solo marans of the first hatch picked up two EE from the little feed store here first ee I picked up in while

Ever just randomly decide "I want to make some mint jelly."

All the mint jellies I've tasted in the past were mint with hot pepper. I never cared for the taste. I like pepper jelly just fine.

So I went and cut a bunch of my strongest spearmint and made some jelly. Tastes like cold mint tea with a touch of lemon. Would be good on cookies. I'll try some peppermint later I think.

Since at this time of year I always have lemons and juice along with pectin, I can just randomly make things.

Now that I'm thinking, I could probably make a bunch of fresh mint tea concentrate and can it. I wonder how that would taste versus dried leaves. Experimenting time

morning every one anyone alive in this heat we tend to hide in air conditioning
the site is having a few delay problems this morning

I’m around been mowing the plantation my second Maran broody only hatched 5 out of 18 eggs is there a problem with them sitting on that many that would case such a low hatch. It’s much better today so far about 85 out yesterday was 99 degrees that cooked my brain
