If it comes from a hatchery, bet it's an EE. Most feed stores only have hatchery birds. There is the rare local feed store that gets from local breeders of quality birds. Ameraucana, araucana, and EEs are the most confused birds out there thanks to hatcheries and what they tell the feed stores.
I cheat with silkies. Partridge is color sexable around 8 weeks or so. No guessing normally. And when I'm wrong, it's because one I thought was male was actually female.
Had one of those last hatch. Didn't know for sure until 14 weeks and no red wing bows and no comb or wattle growth/coloring. It's one of the crossed partridge lines so the females come out odd color first gen and it's normal from 2nd gen on.
