I didn't want it and found I can go maybe 10 or 12 years if I do no more damage to them

Oh no Penny ! The scariest part of these joint replacements is having them when you are OLD, and the body does not heal near half as well, nor does the immunal system work half as well...so many in their 80s succumb to various infections, even MRSA.
A perfectly exacuted surgery, on a 20 year old would go well, on an 80 year old it can be iffy, and recoop-peration :))) can last years longer in a senior.
Putting it off is not a good thing.

Hey I have lost 4 pullets now of the Marans we hatched they just up and die another one today

Hey mine are tough and doing extremely well as always, if you need some eggs let me know, they are in molt now but a few are starting to come out of it.
I will have the big incubator going come January...if you want chicks.

I had a total left shoulder replacement two years ago had me in almost tears a few times had to take the rehab very seriously. I didn’t think I was ever going to be able to make it work right but after about 3 months I was in good shape. I have heard that knees are not as bad but that’s hard for me to believe.

Holy Cow ! A whole shoulder !?!?
How did you injure it enough to require surg if you do not mind my asking~~~~
My left rotator is giving me fits....but if I leave it be and do not extend it, I'll be OK

Mom was 38 I believe when she had her first done. It wasn't just bone on bone, but worn almost flat and no kneecap left.

The doctor was honest with her and told her that the only reason they say people are too young is because it's supposed to be a for life replacement, but there is a lifespan on the actual replacement knees. So they want you to be old enough that you die before it fails. Mom was just warned she may need another replacement eventually at that point in time.
