Oh, how fun! I grew up in Central Oregon and moved to eastern WA about 13 years ago. Always wanted a little farm type home...but married a "city boy".Hai all! *waves* I just moved to Washington in September (originally an Oregonian but I'd been living in Virginia for 10 years). I bought a house on almost 2.5 acres in Tacoma and have just gotten my ducks and some chickies. I'll eventually add some sheep and a horse after I've gotten my fences mended and my barn re-roofed.
Yes! But we’re going to get cold so they say! I’m really getting tired of wood stove mess! It’s bad enough the crunchy stuff that gets tracked in but the dust on everything gets so bad!Morning gangseems did not rain in the night
say it is gone for week ?
I use it everywhere! I put it in the holes they dig for dust bathing too!Do you put your wood ash on the coop floor great to keep the bugs out
Hello!Hello there! I have been on here since early 2019, and just realized there were state pages
I grew up with chickens in Western WA, but we stopped raising them when I was about 15. I’ve wanted them for myself ever since, and 15 years later my husband and I moved to the mountains outside of Cashmere and now a I’ve been a chicken Mama for about a year!
I bought 12 mixed chicks at Coastal last March, and we have 9 left(lost 3 to predators). We will be bringing our flock to 24 this year, with a combination of incubated eggs and purchased chicks. Yay for chicken math!
We are doing the Homesteady thing, so we will use our chickens for eggs as well as meat... butchering cyclically so that we always have layers in their prime. We also aspire to add turkeys in 2022, and perhaps even quail seasonally for eggs and meat.
Not sure what else to say, so there it isNice to meet you all!
