I decided to walk Hazel Grace as it's been months since she last got to go for a walk. Ended up finding someone's driver's license.
Does anyone know where I should turn it in? Because I found it outside a closed school.

You could take it to the police station, but just as easy to take it to the address on it. That’s what I did when I found one at Walmart a few years ago.

I honestly did not pick it up at first. I found it strange where I found it so I continued on our walk for a bit before we circled around. I ended up picking it up finally before we continued on.

We've found cards in parking lots a few times. I give them to the help desk at the store. Police station is best with where you found it.

I'd just mail it to the address on the license. Most likely the license holder already ordered a new one but always nice to know that the old one was found.

I found a stack of receipts, DL, and CCs once. I was just turning it in to the Safeway customer service when the panicked lady came in asking if anyone had turned it in. It had fallen out of her purse when she was getting in her vehicle and she only noticed when she got home.

We'd have people turn in licenses and cards to us all the time back when I worked at Waldenbooks in a mall. We'd stick them in the safe. It was also one of the few reasons we were allowed to look in our reward card system to see if the person was in there. If they were, we'd call the number in the file and let them know the card was with us. If no one claimed a card after 2 days, it was turned over to mall security who passed stuff on to the police.

I've found keys, money, and jewelry several times as well.

I have fairly good situational awareness and a good eye as long as it's not super sunny out.
