So half cochin, 3/8 silkie, 1/8 ameraucana. Someone was laying in the wrong pen. Since Molly is the most probable mother based on egg color, and a very good broody, she'll be good as well I hope.

Does anyone have a WA-local breeder of Ameracaunas they would recommend? I've got some on order from Cackle just for the blue egg gene for a project. Thinking I'd like to see about better genetics locally if possible. Thanks!

Yeah I'm running into a lot of listings with either no website or closed websites.

Might try if you buy some eggs like of ebay incubate grow up a rooster .. Take a bit longer but could get some nice brids out of it.

Can hardly wait for the upcoming cold front to pass on through so I can start seeding my garden beds. I like getting peas, radish and arugula in during February, but only if it looks like temperatures will stay above freezing.

I already have things like basil, peppers and tomatoes growing under the grow lights. I'm always a bit too eager.
