I just emailed the NPIP guys at Oly & head state vet to ask WHERE was the outbreak ? In WHAT part of the county. So hopefully they answer & I'll let you all know what I find out. I don't know wether to keep my birds locked up in coops or what.Had not heard aything turning news on here
That always helps, especially with rodent & crows coming around. But AI can be spread by YOU stepping on a songbird sneeze & walking into your coop/pen. It's that virulent. They recommend boots decontaminated before you step into each coop. Scarey contagious!Scarry people think I am crazy food and warter kept inside.
Watch for dead wild birds. If you see any, pick them up in plastic like a dog doo & report to dept of Ag. Lock up your coops so your birds are not free ranging where wild birds could be. This includes millions of migrating birds that could have dropped poop or stopped over in your yard/pasture/ponds.Scary as hell now what do we do.
You know I use a bleach solution on my boots, but usually before I go indoors. I don't have a boot station at every coop. But that's what we are going to have to try forSo keep bleach water outside is that what is ?
