I learned about that this summer, when I couldn't figure out why my tomatoes weren't ripening (let's face it, this was a poor year for summer veggies) - so when it was hot I took half-ripened tomatoes inside (since the house is set to 74F), to get them to ripen more reliably when I knew I'd be needing them.

A new range lots of new cooking to be had. I am making blackberry Jam tomorrow .. This is the second year I have done it.
Just in time for tomato sauce, etc. Last year I canned green tomato salsa. Yummy! Hubby eats a lot of chips and salsa. Might need to make regular salsa this year. Blueberry jam sounds delicious! Still want to pick blackberries.

We've had tons of Marion Berries this year, so I have made a couple pies. We're not big jelly eaters, so not making that. I found a great "Oregon's Best" pie recipe that calls for cream cheese base and the berries over that in a double crust. It is so good.
Me as well. Made wine last year, will do so again next year. Cobblers are always a hit! Windfall apples for a crisp or two. Still have much in freezer. No little kids to feed.
