The baby feathers make it hard. Once they have full juvenile feathers around 10 weeks its easier to tell.

Look rather silver colored so maybe silver laced wyandottes. Comb looks wrong on that one though. But wrong comb types happen with hatchery birds too often.

Id hold off guessing sex for a few weeks.

I am going to put chicken wire up in the middle of the run and have rooster be in it during the day, he can roost in the coop at night, , he is the best rooster ever but my hens , 5 of the 11 are so bare backed , their wing elbows are raw , they need time to heal and regrow feathers,,,,, I don’t want to create an angry rooster but i think it’s the right thing to do.

They don’t have mites or lice just a one year old rooster, even his lower belly is red/raw looking

I put up a new roost in the run today, since the big branch that was in there didn't seem very popular with the girls. A 2x4 8 feet long. Hopefully it will be better for them.

Only got 3 decent eggs today, plus 3 or 4 soft shells. I think they were stressed out last night because of the crappy roosting accomodations.

Cooking a loaf of whole wheat bread in the machine today, and going to have Angus beef burgers tonight for supper. With fresh lettuce and onions and tomatoes from the garden.
