Taking it easy today trying to get my ankle to heal up. It kind of feels better, but I overdid it yesterday and it was hurting last night. Still watching Lost episodes...

I didn't see any soft shell eggs this morning under the roost. But last night when they were out foraging, one dropped a softy, and two others were waiting patiently for her to lay it. As soon as it hit the ground all three devoured it. Sick, but I guess that's just chickens for you.

It's almost like they try to lay soft shell eggs on purpose so they can eat them. Probably not possible, though.

I found a soft shell under the roost this morning. Of course all that was left was a membrane. Yesterday I found a normal egg under the roost. So someone’s got some kind of issue but I have no idea who it is.

yes, I had one too, and which ever hen lays the funky odd shaped thin shelled ones layed one yesterday,, I wish I knew which hen it was,, she has never gotten her system running as it should.
