Up at 4:30, looked at the news and weather, rooster is hollering at me,
One cup of coffee down, its not quite light yet so,,,,, another cup
So, my morning
I am going out now!!! --chickens
dogs
set meat out for dinner
laundry
get the water going on the elder berries, pick pumpkins
water the lavender beds and other herb beds
pick and freeze kale [ I picked tomatoes last evening]
GET THOES DRIED HERBS TAKEN CARE OF
light house keeping
LUNCH---

All eight of my chickens gave me an egg this morning. Good birds!

@Smokerbill why do you feed your chickens mash? I’m just curious. I’ve never done that in 10 years of chickens.

Going back to this, maybe I don't know what "mash" actually is. I just assumed it was regular chicken feed/layer pellets that are soaked in enough water to make an oatmeal like consistency feed. Is that not correct?

I don’t know either. Lol. But I thought it was fermented.

I guess it can be, but mine's not. It's just wetted down feed. Even though it's the same thing as the dry food, they go after it like it's a treat.
