Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Bit of snow accumulating now, but I haven't been able to get the human door open on the coop (it's frozen and I don't want to force it) so the chickens will have to make do with the food in the run. Except of course they hate snow so they'd rather stare at the food dishes while hiding under shelter.

The door on the new coop is warped T 1-11 warped at the bottom.
39 here most the snow is gone it has been raining like 3 days.
Sucks about the door.

I let the girls back out into their day run today. The woodchips out there are kind of wet, but I guess it won't hurt them. They'll dry out when they go back into the secure run for the night.

Picked up another banana box of produce waste at the grocery store this morning. Grapes, greens, tomatoes, apples and a 5 pound bag of russet potatoes.

I guess chickens will eat cooked potatoes, won't they??? Can they eat the skin too?

Human coop door was still iced shut this morning so I slid a putty scraper under it until I hit the icy patches and chipped it loose. Just means I'll need to paint the trim again come summer. :hmm We normally take in the dry feeder at night but we'll just leave it inside for now, in case it melts and then refreezes overnight, so at least I won't have to worry if there's food that's dry and available inside.

As long as it isn't green, it's fine cooked. Potatoes were used as filler in Britain during WWII. I give excess mashed potatoes sometimes and they love them
