Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

My chickens are happy scratchers now. I removed all the straw I could and replaced it with nice, soft, partially rotted woodchips. There's probably lots of little bugs in them too.

I removed 7 totes full straw and replace it with 7 totes of woodchips. Next I start removing the straw from the day run, and there's a LOT of straw in that one.

Glad Richard is doing well. I thought you were getting out of the chicken business a while back. Now you must have 20 or 30 don't you?
I did sell off the banty using their coop as a greenhouse.
I still have the main coop.
We love the fresh eggs not ready to loose them or the eggs.

My chicks left Tacoma a half hour ago. They're getting closer! I have the brooder box set up inside ready to go. Feeder is full of crumbles, waterer is ready to fill. I'll turn on the heating pad and ceramic heat lamp this evening to get things warmed up.

I just realized that the brooder box will get a little cramped as the chicks grow. It was fine for 7 chicks, but I'm getting 16 this time. I'll need to move them outside into the coop sooner than I did the last batch.

I've had them out there at a week old.
