My EE Janis was in the nest box a long time today and I was getting worried. Finally she made her song and I checked on her. My EE just laid a 83.5 gram egg! My other EE's lay eggs in the 44 gram range. 83.5 gram blue egg from my EE. Talk about wanting to breed that one, now I really want to hatch some of her eggs.

Fast and furious sets the pace but slow and steady wins the race !! For those looking into the tax deductions. I wish you luck. I did it when we had all the goats. I had a lot more expenses and made more with the goats than I ever will with chickens. That being said it was slightly worth it but for chickens 1) I don't know if most of us could qualify 2) I don't know if there would be enough gain to offset the hassle. But if you decide to try..... Good luck.
