ETA we are going to take a little road trip just for a fun visit with CGG and Bella. Since we had already rearranged the day.

I was going to report that, last weekend, I was helping my friend with her goats, we gave vaccines, bo se, dewormed ect.
Well she invited some gals we used to rodeo with about 30 yrs ago...... did I just say 30? OMG!! I'm old!!

It was so good to see them and catch up. Well, in the process I found out that one of them is a 4H extension agent for Yakima.
So, I started asking questions, apparently, there are no "poultry" 4h leaders!!! There's a master gardener that fills in once in a while! So, I asked what the process was to become a leader, and she told me, so I'm contemplating becoming a leader.
Yea, I'm a crip, and yea I only have my own ducks and poultry breeds for experience, but, I thought, it would be a way for me to learn along with the kids?? Any ideas?? Some of you know me pretty well, do you think it's doable?? I might have to wait till next year after this hip deal is done, but, it doesn't sound like it's going any where and I would love to get more kids AND parents involved!! And it could be a way, to get more Scovie exhibitors!!

Make an appointment and meet with them and see if you would feel comfortable doing it.

I have a meeting tomorrow with the King County 4-H rep. I'm going to start a family club, but she's trying to encourage me to start a regular club. I don't think I could do that, though. I'm already a Cub Scout leader, a Girl Scout helper, and last year I had to give up my Camp Fire USA group that I had lead for 3 years because it became too much without parent support. I was beginning to feel like I was becoming a drop-off babysitter and we had too many kids in our group for me to keep tabs on all of them by myself. I just can't take on another "group". But, I am looking forward to doing a family club. I'm considering Friday evening being our 4-H night.

Yes! Do it!!! DH is our leader, but I do most of the work behind the scenes! LOL!!! It's not difficult and the kids will benefit soooooo much!!!! I say go for it!!!

Been talking to the roof contractor & we are trying to figure out (due to rain everyday til spring?) how to build the roof ...without taking the tarp off the house.
LOL
So talked about building it ON the tarp...tarp will stay in place & trusses will go up, roof completed and then later we can go up in what will be the loft floor, and cut the tarp off with sheetrock knife...sounds likr the only plan we can do~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bank should have our loan ready to sign anyday unless there is some issue.....I am waiting to hear........

That is tricky. We built our place, and didn't break ground until Octoberish. I remember looking at the pool of water in our basement, thinking it would never ever get dry! They framed all through the winter, and it did eventually dry out.

Started another batch of eggs in the incubator last night, but have eggs going for 2 of our 4-H family's and another 4-H Alumni, as well as some more BLRW eggs. I also collected the last of the Faverolle eggs, but they quit laying about a week ago, so those eggs are a bit on the older side, but hoping for a few to hatch!!!!

Collecting assorted eggs for Rainwolf also, and CL, I'm hoping to start collecting yours next week....although I still only have 3 hens/pullets laying, but they are very regular. Hoping another one kicks into gear here soon after their molt!!!

Trying to decide if I should go outside and start burning all my tomato plants, or stay inside and pull out my last quilting project from last winter. Question is, will the sun stay out, or will I get out there, start the fire, and be working in the rain???? Off to check the doplar.............

OK, doplar looks clear, and I seem to be talking to myself, so guess I'll head outside!!!

I think you would be a wonderful 4-H Poultry leader. If there was anything you didn't know already, you of course, have wonderful resources readily available to you! Do it.

It's interesting that your son wishes his skin color was different?? Does he think that would change his culture?? Just curious? I watch a TON of PBS and they have from time to time documentary on the World Wars, and the Nazis etc. I get so caught up and upset about how devastating and unbelievably grizzly the events were, I start to ball!
