Quote: Yup and now that she was kind enough to give us the grande tour of all coops and the lay out of everything it will be much easier to find my way around in the dark. and the dogs not an issue either!!!!
If I were you I'd start with nutrition, care, housing, then breeding, broodies, hatching, chicks, incubating, feed & care of chicks, and all that before I got into the SOP.Thanks Robin!!! man that's means I'm gonna have to bone up on a lot of poultry breeds, and the APA standards tooI'm having a hard enough time tryin to figure out my own breeds!! LOL!! well, that could be a good first assignment, figure out what poultry breed you want to raise, the pros, cons, and know the basics of the SOP for that breed, too much??![]()

Ya know I don't often get far from home and travel a pretty limited number of trails. Today when we went to see CGG I learned how they (state) can sucker one. See going over to Gig Harbor, over the Narrows Bridge was free. BUT once they have you trapped guess what??? If ya wanna get home ya gotta pay their toll. Yup I think they have been to a few poultry shows and figured out the system. They let ya in for free. Getting out is what costs.

x2!!! LOL!!
I imagine they wanna make sure you aren't a perv or chestermolester too...have to pass a background check ?Jules, they do train you, at least here in Snohomish County. You have to pass safety checks, and then they offer various workshops like leadership and what not. No specific trainings on the poultry info stuff. First you need the kids to join the poultry program, and then they have to determine what they want to learn, and then you help them! And yes, you will learn together!!!!
YOU and TERRY have to be the most take charge and greatest organizers I have ever met ! ALL THOSE NAVY SKILLS just come bursting forth !!!!!!!!!Well, I can't say I'm the most organized person on the face of the earth, but, if it's kind of basic stuff, I'm good. What ages do they start at?? I am partial to the 8,9,10s they seem to be more curious and helpful, I have no clue, in any case, I would do my best to teach what I know and have fun!!
This is your first post I see................I hope this isn't confusing to anyone. But hi!!
No, I know it looks like I'm a new peep but that's not true. I've been here since 2/2010.
Apparently my machine eliminated the "cookie" and I had to re-sign in. That didn't work. So after trying all day to sign in and contacting the powere that be (with no response) they kept telling me they sent the info to my mail box. Funny, I never received it. Huh, every tom, dick and harry can get me a message but not these guys. IDK.
Hopefully I will get this corrected in the near future. Mike
