Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

You simply don't know how my yard works. We have a creek running through the middle of it, and on the far side of the yard is the kids play area (which they rarely use) and then there's a garden they play in too. The chickens should have creek access for drinking in the fall/winter/spring. It's a crappy setup. Maybe I'll get a picture of the whole yard somehow (panoramic) and post it here. Or maybe I'll have everyone here over for a backyard "potluck" as a ruse to getting help putting up a chicken wire fence.

Did I mention that Willow FLEW over the creek today?! Psycho. She'd totally have drowned if she landed in the creek because I wasn't going in after her!

That's a nice setup Trav!

Once we figure out if we're going to do a garden shed kit, or make our own design, we will be figuring out how to make the broody area ..... Can you have two broody hens together, or will they peck each other? I thought I had done enough reading, but the further into this I get, it's like I have more questions pop up. Guess you can never fully know everything, just get really close.

In our town the police clerk knows all of the municipal codes and she said there's markers on the town map that tell her where roosters are allowed and where they aren't ..... My husband is a volunteer lieutenant with our local fire department, so I'll have him do some more digging. :)

You can, and many do. If I get 2 broodies at once, they will be put at opposite ends of the broody box and food/water will be in the middle.

Wait til you see the pallet coop when it is done. I just put some new pics up in the "My Coop" on my profile. Hoping to have it completely done by time the chicks hatch
