Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Ok, the reason I ask is because normaly I buy it from Bothell Feed Center and it is white (small bag can't remember how much I payed). Today when I went to Coastal, they had a plastic jug for 14.99 and it was ash grey in color. The one I bought is a 40lb (I think) for $16.99. I have not opened it yet but I am assuming that it is the same grey color. Although it does say on the bag that it is the right stuff. But the color just threw me off and I wanted to check to make sure I did not just buy the wrong thing.

Quote: Yes I will be treating all the wood with bleach before I paint it. The pallets are 40" square. They are milk crate pallets from a HUGE, well known dairy farm here in the Portland area(can't say the name as the pallets"fell" off the trailers). I am using 3' screws to attach the pallets together. I just remove the 1"x6" bottom boards and the center 2"x4" and then put them together. Hard part is making it level on a sloping hillside.

It had a big white head and huge yellow beak...looked like this:

That would be our National Bird, the Bald Eagle. Stands 3' high and has an almost 8' wingspan. Very beautiful as long as it is no where near your yard.
Just wondering, what color is the DE that ya'll use?
Mine is creamy shell color
So I've considered taking on a hopeless bird project. To try and get a barred silkie that doesn't have pigment issues. I know the barring causes issues with the skin and eye pigment. The little striped silkies are so cute, though. DH didn't give me the "Look" when I told him about it, so he doesn't care. Of course, I told him I'd only need to get two black girls, and since the silkies take so little room, that wasn't bad.
There are some breeders that have been doing that project for a few years now, it is hard to see the barring because of the Silkied feathers, but they do look interesting.

So you want to do Cuckoo silkies? Very cute. I am not ready to tackle a project like that yet. I want to work on really nice blacks, with Blue and splash as side projects. :)
