Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

We have NO backyard lights so that would be why it seems SO dark for the girls. The sun sets behind trees in the winter time too, so it's darker even earlier because the sun is behind those trees a good long time.

DH took my keys (and HIS!!) to work. I have no car, no house key, no mailbox key. William's first pair of glasses are in the mailbox and I can't even go get them!!! Grr. Hoping I can catch the mailman tomorrow and he can give me the mail, if not we will have to wait until Saturday morning for keys :( I'm dying to put those sweet red glasses on his face for the first time and see what he does.

And it looks like it is raining pretty good up there according to radar, which will make it even darker. It hasn't started here yet, just light cloudiness. I can see that it is dark enough that they should be cooped. I go out and close them in around 5 and remove the nest box covers(Dingy teens keep trying to sleep in them instead of going to roost so I block them up around 3:30 -5. They go to roost then). Bummer about the keys. My DW and myself keep our keys on separate counters to avoid this(yes it has happened to us too)

Generally it's not a problem. We have one car right now and if it's gone that means I stay home anyway. I'm not normally waiting on a really fun package! I had glasses at 18mo old so it's surprising we've waited so long after William's eye surgery to get him glasses too. I'm so happy he'll be able to see so much better when they arrive!!

And nope, no big rain for us yet. Maybe a trickle. We're east of the sound in Covington. I'm glad for no rain, our nest boxes still leak like crazy when it storms and we're going to fix that problem on Saturday!!! I did clear out all the damp litter today and there was more than expected :( I feel even worse for not inspecting the coop internally when I knew the nest boxes were leaking. I was just replacing the straw in the nests every few days, but the litter in the coop was wet too, in about a 1s/f area.

Yeah, the rain is coming to ya. Won't be too long, sorry. Gonna be a wet drive for me tonight. There have been a lot of fatalities along I-5 in the last couple of days. Crazy people need to pay attention when driving. Even a semi truck driver died in Auburn trying to avoid a deer.

Is there anyone that can get the keys from your hubby for ya? That stinks having to wait.

Wow, sorry about all those fatalities, that's so scary! I wouldn't be worried about myself driving dangerously, I'd be worried about all the other crazies texting and talking while driving.

Hubby is only about half a mile away right now, but they might move him tomorrow morning. If they do, he's going to swing by with the keys for me on his way to the other station. Yay! If not, oh well I can wait. DS has waited his whole 2.5 year long life to see, what's another day in the long run, right?

Gah! One of my best friends is pregnant and found out the gender today. She isn't telling anyone yet!! She has an amazing story though. They were married and tried to have kids for 7 years before finally deciding to adopt; their first was a baby girl. Then they adopted a baby boy. Said kids are now 4.5 and 2 y/o, and suddenly, amazingly, God blessed them with a pregnancy. She is 20 weeks pregnant and it's just such an extraordinary story of blessing in their lives! I can't wait to find out what they're having...I like to shop

I just texted her to tell her that Santa says she's naughty and she better tell me the gender ;)

I am the same, confident in my driving(I know when I am not safe to drive and will pull over if needed), it is the other 1000+ idiots I worry about. I have learned to read other drivers actions and can predict behavior a lot of the time(been driving professionally for 16yrs). There was a nasty one at MP 58 that involved 3 semis(jack-knifed) and a car on Wed morning. And last night all lanes NB on the I-205 bridge when I left were closed because of fatality, and then the semi in Auburn this morning. Sheesh. Crazy dangerous to be a driver

. At least tonight is my Friday(I get to nurse my illness all weekend)

And my teen birds made it to the top roost tonight with the big kids.
