When a thread is as busy as this one, though, there can be multiple conversations going on simultaneously, some repetition is necessary. It can get confusing that way, but it would also be confusing without it. Sometimes it's good to be reminded of the flow of conversation, otherwise, it can seem stilted and out of context.

Also, if you want to be able to have nested quotes (handy!), it can be tricky simply to quote one particular thing.  Takes a lot of editing, etc.

I agree for the most part, but for me and only being able to use my phone for internet, I do not have the option or ability to do that. Wish I did.

thanks for posting about early American life on the frontier. (hard to think of Indiana as a frontier). I do believe it was B Franklin that invented the cooking stove as he did the pot-bellied stove.

I have a full compliment of cast iron cookware and use it almost exclusively. Even temps, easy to regulate and cleanup is a snap.

CR- I was trying to get a car so I could come out and and help you move your cages, but DH had to take the car to work. I know your probably laughing, silly little girl you would not be able to help! Lol I can just picture you giggling bout it. But that's ok ;o) I get it a lot. Then comes the holy cow look, when I show what I can do.
I just wish I could afford to run all over and help everyone of ya'll with anything ya need done! Hope you find some one to help ya CR.

Girl you couldn't be further from the truth. See I know some pretty small ladies that can put a lot of men to shame when it comes to doing things. Also I have a saying (hope this isn't taken wrong here!) a warm body is better than nobody. In other words a little help is better than no help at all. Not saying you would only be a little help. Just that one should not turn down ANY help.
See Ma'am who am I to discredit what others can/can't do. See I have a disability rating of 19% of amputation of my right leg above the knee, have a rotator cuff repair that went sideways, many people who have the back injury I do are in a wheel chair and I have degenerative disk disease of the neck. So I am not the strongest one around and that is why I believe to work smarter not harder.

As for the cages as of right now it looks like we are going to plan for Saturday 12/22 .

Now I know I will probably catch heck (from others) for this (bring it) . But I hear ya about wanting to help. See it is tough being way down here. I often see things others need help with or need moved and I think boy if I was closer. Also see that is why I ask for anybody NEAR Spanaway. I can't ask peeps to go far to help when I am not able to do same for others. Although with the little cheap car I may be able to do more helping if it is just things like helping but not needing to haul something.

Hey guys !!
Just popped in to say Howdy !

Been very busy here with too much to even write down.
But to make the long story short, we are working on the roof trusses when ever we can...in between storms, then retarping the whole house.

We are both doing great, Einstein quit smoking cold turkey and has been a bear but so far he is doing good...I think.
I ain't going to spy on him, if he is gonna quit, I am not going to be his cig-police.

Here is what the trusses look like stood up, this one on the far end of the house.










Stack of lumber on the right side of the house is all trusses cut to fit & ready to get nailed together...siding on but no windows cut out yet (it is dark inside !)
What a mess...saw dust & stuff everywhere....
Well, in between building (on rainy days) I am working on the baby quilt for my daughter.....and not getting that much done on it.
Just got a call that another load of lumber is coming at 2:00 PM to frame in the eaves of the barn (front & back) so now I have to go move stuff to make more room.
Had power go out 2 hrs last night, a big electrical arc somewhere close by....we have BIG BPA lines next door that run out front.....couple of huge big arcs & all went dark.Hope everyone
is doing well !!

Not trying to get back on the topic of guns, but I just wanted to say that I hope I did not come off angry. I value the opinion of every person on here as well as looking up to every one of you for many reasons. I am very limited on the ease off typing as my internet is down and I am doing all of this from my stupid smart phone.
I am very happy that we are able to discuss more than just our poultry as you guys (this is kinda pathetic, I know) are my onl6 friends. See people my age or just any one I meet are intersted in very material things and who has the best or coolest stuff while I am more consentrated on my family. I tried having friends but as soon as the husband camehome the wives threw the kids at them and wanted to run out th door. When my DH is home I am home for the day.
It would drive me crazy that these girls were so concerned with other things that they would let their kids run all over them, then complain that their children were horrible and won't listen while not taking responsibility for how they rasied them.
I am sorry for babbling. I just want ya'll to know that I value each and every one of you here.
I also do belive that there needs to needs to be stricter laws for owning guns, but that our right should not be taken away.
As far as gun safes go we bought ours for about $180ish at Harbor Freight.

I'm kind of pathetic because all of my friends around my age have been inherited from my fiancee. One of them will call up and say "Ed, come over and we'll do something together! Jane can come too if she wants." The move from Delaware cut me off from my friends in grade school. I love the meet-ups so much because I can hang out with people I've met on my own who share a similar lifestyle (the chicken lifestyle). I can call BYCers "my" friends instead of "our" friends or "his" friends. So don't worry, you're not alone.

Two and a half rolls of Mineral Guard Roofing material - unused. Each roll is 32.583 feet long by about 36 inches wide. One roll has 16 feet cut off.
This is compositge roofing material, much like shingles, but comes in a roll.

I can't delete stuff easily or accurately when I'm on the phone, so if I have a huge chunk in my post, I'm on the phone posting. I've been trying to remember to shorten my quotes for the last few months.

Dang it. We won't be around to help out. I saw you're post when we were out yesterday and DH said to find out when and he'd come move it. He's insane and used to lifting heavy stuff and doesn't mind helping out. I'm not to shabby at lifting, just have to be careful on how I do it right now.

Mom just had surgery on her back, and it will be my job to do the christmas stuff and dinner. DH has a few cleaning jobs to help out around their house since Dad's been having a few issues. My brothers try and do most of the stuff for them since they are close. They don't clean, though, and DH doesn't have an issue doing cleaning. Joe just got up on their house and cleaned all the gunk and leaves off the top and off the patio roof.
