So I decided I needed a few pictures this afternoon.

"Volunteer" number one.




"Volunteer" number two. He got let out of the separate pen and in with all the lovely girls, so he was happy. He's very cooperative anyway.

I gave my 4 quarantined hens a dishpan with dust in it and they were so funny to watch.

Halle (Clearly #1) plopped herself down in it and refused to move. Rosie and Cocoa (Fighting to be #2 and #3) were trying desperately to squeeze in beside her. Rosie finally sat down on top of Halle, and Halle let her so that she wouldn't lose her spot. Sad, but still funny.

That is a hilarious picture. She is clearly stating, "I am NOT moving"

Just wondering if anyone happens to have any LF girls around a year or so old that they are selling?

I don't have enough eggs and I need more chickens!!!

I have really come to respect my plain White Leghorns!!!! They only took a few days break and went back at it!!! The other girls have been on strike for almost 2 weeks. I bought store eggs for the first time in 1yr

It might work. I have DH go out on dark nights and pee on my cherry trees to help deter deer. The dogs pee along the fenceline up front and we haven't had a coyote cross it, but do see them out on the road and hear them along the RR tracks.

Thanks. I appreciate the ideas. I think I may have my 3 DS's go out and pee around the chicken area. Lol, they will get a kick out of that!

I am beyond ****** off. I almost have no words. I have to clean the kitchen now because I basicly went in and threw a fit throwing stuff evety where.
After yesterdays coyote take, I wished I had a broody hen to put my turkey eggs under, but sense I didn't was just going to incubate them. Then yesterday I discovered my wish came true. One of my BEST mommas had gone broody all of a sudden (it is very easy to know when here and her twin are broody). She has rasied many chicks and been an amazing mom. I made sure to lock up the coop lastnight.
This morning I went to let everone our only to find that something pryed open the chicken door and ripped my girl right out of the nest!
None of my chickens will come out of the coop today.
I hadplanned on building (and had started) a run to keep them safe, but then we figured out we are moving. Now I don't have the darn money to build it. And what I started I took down and most of the wood I bought has been used for other things.
I may end up setting up a tent on the roof of the coop and sitting.in it all night. Aaaarrrggg!

Oh no FM, I'm so sorry to hear this!! That's horribly sad. I hope you're able to get the dang thing that's causing you so much loss.
