Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Make sure you read the latest info.
Don't know what the rate is but it use to be you only had so many years to make a profit.
Been a while since I looked into it.
With the Wife and I both owning a business I have enough tax info that floods my head for those types of business.
Thank God I have a great tax accountant that is to the letter of the law cause the IRS audits small business more than any other.
Go figure huh? The big boys get away with creative accounting yet they come after us the ones taxed to death.
Oh yeah, the thieves in gvt do not like competition.

Sad day for me today... My beloved Cochin Fizzle, Flo, and my Serama, Java, passed away last night.

Something came in and got them.
Oh No, how sad. There seems to be so many attacks lately. You have my sympathy.

Update on "Peep", she ate a few crumbles and drank a ton of water about 6 hours after the attack. I know the wound will heal fine, I was just worried about the shock. She seems to have come out of that. We have heard her clucking and purring in the tub a few times. Gonna keep her inside tonight and she how she is doing tomorrow to see if she wants out or not.

Happy New Year everyone.

That's great news! Glad to hear she's doing better.

My chickens don't shake their heads, but I call their names when I give out treats, and they all (mostly) wait their turn

Mine just wait for Rhodie to take her turn - then I have to get Rhodie out of the way, or she'll never give anyone a turn. Little brat.

Jess, your family is gorgeous!! Looks like you had a great Christmas!

We had a great Christmas as well. It was our first Christmas at home with just the 4 of us. My parents couldn't come this year (they live in Colorado) and the in-laws went to California. I wasn't sure what I would think of this new Christmas but it was nice, I do miss the family though.
Our DD turned 9 on the 30th she says she "feels older" already. Lol... so do I.
We got 4 new girls (2 BR and 2 WLH) about 2 weeks ago and they have settled in well with the rest of the group, I think one of them has even laid a few eggs for us. We are thinking about getting a business license, (we have been selling our eggs for awhile now) the tax write offs would be nice.
Anyway, hope all are having a great holiday season!!

I'm glad you had a great Christmas - even if it was different. Congrats on the new girls! That's awesome one may already be laying.

Hi Nikki!
Good to hear from you! Glad you had a nice Christmas but I understand what you mean about missing those that are usually with you. But cherish the calm and quiet that comes with it, too. It sounds like chicken math finally wore you down (since Chehali).

Did you get your plants in the ground ok?

I agree with Greg about the small business issues. Write-offs can be a lot more hassel than the reward they seem to offer. But if it works for you... hooray.... go for it!

Happy New Year!

Not to mention B&O taxes... I'm assuming those still exist.
